What does Tsunagi do
Tsunagi is a flashcard and note-taking app that brings together everything we've covered so far (the forgetting curve, spaced repetition, flashcards) in a single application.
Roughly, it works like this: you first write a note in Tsunagi, a topic, a definition, an example, whatever you want to remember. Flashcards are then generated from those notes: question-and-answer units built from your note's content. All you do day to day is open the app and answer whatever cards come up; Tsunagi's scheduling algorithm decides which card appears when, essentially an automated version of the "review at the right time" idea from the previous page.
You're not limited to plain text when writing your notes: Tsunagi's editor supports markdown, plus its own extensions for things like math, diagrams, and media. We cover this in detail in the Editor section.
Here's a map of the rest of the series:
- The Science: if you want to understand the mechanism behind spaced repetition and active recall in a bit more depth.
- The Practice: Tsunagi's own concepts: flashcards, notes, the study screen, tags.
- Editor: how you'll write your notes and cards.
- Settings and More: the card browser and other tools.
When you're ready, let's take a look at the science behind it.
