Text color and effects
You can color selected text, apply a rainbow gradient, or render it with an animated visual effect (fire, aurora, plasma). This isn't part of standard markdown; it's a syntax Tsunagi adds on its own.
Syntax
[text]<color glow-type glow-color>
Inside [...] you put the text you want to color; inside <...> you put
one or more space-separated keywords. Order doesn't matter: the parser
figures out what each keyword means on its own.
Solid colors
You can use a named color or a hex code:
[This text is red]<red>
[This text is a custom shade]<#FFD700>
Named colors: red, deeporange, orange, amber, yellow, lime,
lightgreen, green, teal, cyan, lightblue, blue, indigo,
purple, deeppurple, pink, brown, bluegrey, white, grey (or
gray), black, transparent, and tsunagi (the app's own brand
teal). A hex code can be written as #RGB, #RRGGBB, or #AARRGGBB.
Rainbow text
There are four variants:
[Colored per character]<rainbow>
[Continuous gradient]<crainbow>
[Animated, per character]<mrainbow>
[Animated, continuous gradient]<cmrainbow>
You can apply any of them in reverse by adding r to the front:
rrainbow, rcrainbow, rmrainbow, rcmrainbow.
Shader text (animated)
Three GPU shader effects render with real-time animation:
[Flaming text]<fire>
[Northern lights effect]<aurora>
[Plasma effect]<plasma>
Glow
Adds a glow around the text; it can be combined with a text color:
[White text, steady cyan glow]<white glow #00E5FF>
[Text with a pulsing orange glow]<pglow #FF6D00>
glow is steady, pglow pulses. Both accept a color right after them.
There are also rainbow and shader glow variants: per-character rainbow
glows (rglow, mrglow, prglow, mprglow) and continuous-gradient
rainbow glows (crglow, cmrglow, cprglow, cmprglow) (m =
animated, p = pulsing), plus shader glows (fireglow, auroraglow,
plasmaglow). These too can be reversed with the r prefix.
Combinations
Text color and glow can be used together, and can also combine with markdown formatting (bold, italic, strikethrough, underline):
[**Bold flaming text**]<fire fireglow>
[Animated rainbow with a plasma glow]<mrainbow plasmaglow>
It can be used inline within a sentence, and inside blockquotes and list items too.
Reset
The nocolor keyword resets everything, returning the text to its default
color.
Tips
- Shader text (fire/aurora/plasma) and animated glows are animated in real time, so they carry an extra rendering cost. If a note has dozens of shader-text spans, performance can suffer, so use them sparingly.
- The
tsunagicolor name gives you the app's own brand teal (#37C8DD); it's a fun detail worth knowing.
